Hi, the cabriolets will be seriously expensive when you manage to find one, it might be easier to chop up some SWB to be honest. Overseas, the worst ones in driving condition are north of R 350/400k, going up to R1.5m for a prime example.

Interesting one this. My cabrio serial number is 10688 and this yellow one is 10692 and if i am not mistaken was owned by Johan Roodt for many years but it looked very different to this!

Johan - are you still around? Is it your old one?

Hi Andrew, you are correct it was Johans cab. A very neat one from the beginning. IIRC it only had an aftermarket electric power steering fitted. Although it really looks nice now it is a pity it is no longer in its original condition.

1. How much did they ask for it?
2. Did they get it?
3. Would they have done better leaving it beige with 205 16's on iron wheels?

My cab was 4 units in front of this one on the production line and had the almost identical spec - in fact not a cabrio but a "special purpose vehicle" with only 2 seats and a canvas top. Strangely mine had factory power steering and Johan's did not.

I added a factory back seat and later got the "aftermarket" detachable Schmude hardtop that i use quite a lot - as in the pictures above.

i read somewhere that RHD cabrio / open tops are very rare and that these two discussed here were two of only 11 for '83 and 2 of 100 odd RHD 460 cabrios ever. Not sure of these claims but i think Peter M might jump on it and correct me.
