I would like to pose a question.
Which is the preferred 18 inch Rim on a Gelandewagen - Offset 43 or 63?
63 gives a narrower track width, and is seemingly Mercedes OEM. According to Google it also protects the suspension from excessive wear'n'tear.
43 on the other hand gives enhanced stability, track is wider, and one can more easily fit larger tyres...
How important is it to have a 4.5 cm narrower track when going off road?
That in a nut shell..
Opinions please

Both came as OEM on G's.
To me the 63s look better with narrow or no fender flares, the 43s look better with wide fender flares.
Thanks!
Do you then believe the possibility of increased wear'n'tear on the suspension and wheel bearings should be viewed as negligible, since they are both OEM?

Now then: the 43 offset (Ashtaroth) comes ONLY in Sterling Silver (most affordable option). Can this appearance be changed to have a more "brushed" look? More like Titanium Silver.
The Ashtaroth wheels are supposedly highly rated for off-road use and is apparently very strong.

I have a set of 18” 43 Ashtaroths, in pale silver. A “GOOD” wheel shop can clean up and respray to your choice of colour.
please read that again….. A “GOOD “ wheel shop. I’ve had some idiots cause more damage during repairs…
