No updates for a while. I have been busy fixing / making a wiring harness that meets the spec of what I am putting onto this thing and it has been a bit of a challenge, but thanks to the last bit of info (AC wiring) from Leonard, that is almost complete.
I had to strip the axles out again......all the bolts looked scruffy so I had them all plated again.....and now they look nice but now the suspension components also look scruffy..........
And my wife bless her, points to the roof, my clothes, her car, the dogs, the garden and asks, "is that scruffy enough for you!"
This was the most vrot-rotten end of this G and for me this picture reminds me the most of where this project started. It was taken just before final completion and polishing. I am happy the womenfolk in my life convinced me about this colour. I originally wanted a slate grey colour, because I can see it, and they said to add some blue. So I obeyed.
I really like it, and I suppose that is what counts. After all it is my G!
So the routes west of me are finally opened after the unrest and I go to fetch the body.
Between Majakaneng and Mooinooi the road is eerily quiet, not another car, and I start thinking that there is trouble up ahead that I dont know about. Meantime it is trouble behind me as the straps snap and then
the body gets off the trailer, almost flips, skids and almost rolls, but comes to an unharmed stop in the middle of the road. I jump out and drag it off the road and as soon as it is safe to do so, strings of traffic and the usual chrome trucks go belting past in both directions.
