Good day All,
Please find attached:
1. A list with potential destinations.
They are split in trips as follows: Long: quite a distance possibly 5 to 10 days; Medium: a few days, e.g. long week-end; and Short: close by for a week-end,
This is just to facilitate planning.
2. A calendar depicting school and other holidays.

Please have a look at the destinations, and propose more. Try to give some idea of details, as in the list, which facilitates sieving through all of them.
A special request for places that can be reached equally from South as North. The Southerns want to introduce us to "Tea parties'.
Although some very nice destinations are across border, I purposely try to stayed away from them. Covid can cause trouble. Rather try to stick domestic.
We can obviously try, but once bookings are to be made, money has to be paid, and cancellation could be an issue. Case in point is Mabuya which was booked 2 years ago, and still has not taken place.
Just put proposals in ypur reply, I will copy them on the list, once they are in.
If you have a preference for dates, please let us know as well.

We need to finalise this ASAP, as planning needs to be started.
I will update the list by 16 Dec 2022.
Looking forward to hear from you. I cannot do it on my own, and you know a lot of places.

While looking at the proposed trips I had an idea.
Why not have two semi long trips within SA.
1. A trip for the North to migrate South
2. A trip for the South to migrate North

I have seen many nice places in the South that I would like to visit and probably vise versa for the South.
A few years back we travelled to the Geoge motor show and afterwards went to a members farm and did the Burchells route. This is what I am thinking....

Those of you that have seen the Andrew St Pierre White's video on his G's would recall he mentions John Rich and his farm Stoney Ridge.

John offers fully catered weekend packages that includes accommodation and 4x4 training. He offers an advanced recovery course as well. All of this can be done on a weekend at his farm, as well as drive the 4x4 route, either guided or unguided.

Please indicate if you would be interested in a weekend like this and the recovery course, if there is enough interest then we can look at arranging it for 2022.

All the info can be found here: https://stoneyridge.co.za/?page_id=102
I will also contact John and get details if there is interest.

Stoney Ridge proposal sounds good.

I'm also happy to host a day trip to Berakah on a Sunday, and G Club members are welcome to camp overnight at Vaalplasie on the Saturday.

Good day,

Herewith the proposed calendar, which contains trips on dates. This is on WhatsApp and the Forum under Events https://www.mb4x4.co.za/index.php?threads/outings-2022.5095/
For the trips close by, we can decide closer to the time, where to go.

Wrt Witsand / Namaqua eco route, it needs to be borne in mind that the Namaqua trip is approx. 10 days, however it might be a better / nicer trip. Both these places have been chosen, so that North and South can participate.

Please let us know if you agree with the calendar and destinations, or if you have any other proposals.

We intend to finalise the calendar for 2022 by 15 Jan 2022, then we will move forward with arrangements.
