Karoogw, the vegetation you refer to is in the north west of Victoria, an area I love to get to during winter when the 4WD tracks in the mountains are closed due to snow. The forestry commission close the roads to preserve the area.

Spring and autumn are great in what we call the high country, tracks and river crossings cover the whole area with beautiful camp sites (and none of our wildlife is out there to eat you!)

Suppose ground speed is different to air speed with a helluva head wind you may not go splat at 130. Gps app will work on ground speed.
