We visited the Khutse Nature Reserve 3-6July '15. We where 3 vehicles in our group- G300Pro, my brother with ML350 and friend with Pajero- all towing trailers. We camped at the Molose waterhole campsite 1. Here is a few G related pictures....

Looks like fun. Did you see much wild?

I am curious to know how your fuel with the trailer compares to Bones with lots of stuff on the roofrack.

Did you work it out?

I was a bit disappointed in the amount of wild we saw, although the stay and camping was awesome. We saw springboks, rooi hartbeeste, gemsbok and a few giraffes. Also a jackol or 2 and only heard a lion roaring at night near our camping site. Bird life is excellent.

Last place we could refuel was Letlhakeng, then 100km sandy gravel road to Khutse gate, then another 80km sandy 2spoor road to Molose waterhole. We did 409km in total before refueling at Letlhakeng again and fuel usage was 5,6l/km (72l) on average.

I can just confirm that this vehicle likes to be loaded and of the tar road. On the 2 spoor road it just felt great and happy to be a tow vehicle. I enjoyed that part very much. Just an awesome vehicle and a privillege to drive one.

Great spot to visit. When we went with the G Club a few years back we stayed at the Moreswe Waterhole and even had lions very close by. In fact some of our members nearly became lion food. Won't mention names.:p

Great pics chris! Looks like a lot of fun. Can just echo your sentiments- the rougher the road the better it performs. I have not driven a vehicle which handles corrigations, under heavy load , better.

Thanks for sharing Chris, we were fortunate enough to see lions in Khutse, but we were very lucky and it took 4 days and a lot of searching. I love Khutse, the wide open spaces and the feeling of being completely alone in this wilderness is an experience I will never forget, we so badly want to visit again.

Thanks for sharing Chris!

On our recent trip we met a group of friends with trailers at Van Zyls Pass - and we watched them at the difficult downhill with their trailers - 1x Bushlapa and two Echo's down the pass without hassles!
