Hey. Issue started recently. My 2013 G300d goes into limp mode if I hit a deep enough pothole. All lights in dash light up, revs drop, cannot accelerate. Need to switch off, restart, and everything is fine. Diagnostics don't pick up any faults. Anyone experience same. Any suggestions.

I cannot offer any solid advice on your particular problem, perhaps someone else can. However, I had a similar problem with a 2009 W204 C220cdi sedan in which several functions would stop working and the car would go into limp mode. In my case it would not correct itself by a restart but going through a bump usually helped. Later, just leaving the car standing for half an hour, it would heal itself. Advice ranged from a loose earth to a suspected Signal Acquisition Module (SAM). It turned out that the main power supply cable to the front (in the engine compartment) SAM had a poor connection, upset by bumps and temperature changes. Its a R50 connector with a plastic clip. However, after fixing the connector there were still issues and I eventually replaced the R18,000 SAM with a used part bought for less than R4,000.

Thanks. I suspected sensor/loose connection, at least now maybe we have a starting point to problem.

The W204 also has a lot of tiny pin connections in the footwell next to the door sill, referred to as the CAN BUS. Any water in that area will probably write the car off. The SAM unit (previously know as the fuse box) has something like 33 fuses and 7 control boxes/relays and underneath, 20 plugs with 218 pin connections between them. The real business part of the SAM is on the side with no chance of finding a dry joint or being able to fix it. The red power supply cable with offending plastic connector can be seen in the underneath picture attached.

Your fault certainly sounds like a shared power supply or similar problem.

I am also not sure if this is relevant to your problem, however I will share it just in case. We discovered that our 2010 A180cdi has a safety feature which unlocks all the doors with some warning lights and other things I do not remember now, this feature is triggered when hitting a pot hole / bump hard enough. I suspect it is a safety feature in case of a crash. It does not limp though and definitely does not register as a fault code. Maybe the prof has something similar?

Forgot to close this. Issue was resolved after service. Suspect diesel filter. We were wrongly fault finding electrical issues.
