Good day,
a while back one of the fire trucks from the Newlands fire station rolled and has been sitting under a tarp since. I tried to get more info but apparently the guy in charge is only back next week. Some of the volunteers there said that the rolled Unimog and another double cab would be auctioned off at some stage. I just thought I'd post it here incase someone is interested.
The guy in charge is Phillip Prince and his number is (021) 6897438.

Kind regards,

Christian

Please keep us posted...I would be interested if the bottom end is still straight. Cab can be repaired or replaced.
Hi, I had a quick look under the truck but it was difficult to tell what the damage was. It didn't look bad though. If you have someone in Cape Town who can give you a professional opinion I'd be happy to arrange a meeting with the guy in charge at the fire station.
There are 2 Unimogs that they're auctioning off. Both double cabs. Maybe the damaged one would be good for parts?

Thanks Christian - I am in CT and would love to go and have a look. Maybe in November as October is already jam packed.

Maybe one can than make an offer that they will accept and dispense with the auction.

Perfect, let me know when you plan to go up. I’ll see if I can find out more in the mean time and will let you know.
