Hi Guys,

I'm contemplating on selling my Puch 280GE auto. It’s a 5 door LWB LHD 1985 model. Date of 1st registration in SA is in 1987. Extras include aircon, kidney tanks, bull bar, front towbar, luggage area cover, duel battery, ladder at the back. Interior and upholstery still very good condition. New brake fluid and gearbox oil. I have all the filters, oil and sparkplugs to service the car but have not been able to do as yet. This car is not perfect and will need a small amount of work. Come have a look, drink a beer, do some tyre kicking and lets discuss.

Cheers

Johan

Hi Peter, yes still available. I'm not sure on the mileage. The previous owner had it for 25 years. I bought the car in February and used it as my primary vehicle until I started my new job in April. Now the car is only used weekends

Hi Guys,
My Puch is still up for sale. I really do not want to post on Scumtree and would rather keep within the G community. Update from last post. Dirk replaced all 3 V-belts and installed brand new water pump due to the previous pump that had a small leak. Engine flushed and new anti freeze added.

My wife and I took the old girl for a road trip of approx. 500km over the last long weekend. This was exactly what she needed! Leisurely cruised at 3-4000 rpm (approx. 90-115 Km/h on GPS) with the straight six sounding great! Temperature was between 1/4 and 1/2 on the dial. Combined fuel consumption for the trip 6 km/Lt.

What I realized during the trip:
  • The comfort and space can be compared to newer vehicles and dare I say even sedans.
  • EVERYONE loves a G!!! We had people waving and giving the thumbs up the whole weekend.
  • The nature and life as a whole seems so much prettier and nicer when viewed from in-between 2 orange indicators
I'm going to miss this truck

Update time:

Service completed including all valve clearances adjusted. Gave the car a shake down 2 weekends ago at De Wildt 4x4 track. In the group we had: Fortuner, Ranger, 2 modified LC’s 1 Bakkie and 1 Station wagon. All obstacles completed without even breaking a sweat. One comment that was made is “I never knew the G-Wagons are so capable in stock standard trim” :)

Until further notice, I think I will keep the Puch and drive it down to Cape Town hopefully during early 2017 ;)

Hi Guys,

I decided to put the Puch back on the market. I have moved down to Cape Town and the G is currently still standing at my parents house in Vereeniging (70 Km South of Johannesburg). If interested please contact me.

Regards,
Johan

Evening Gents,

I will post the Puch on Gumtree and OLX within the next week or 2 if there is no interest within the club or on the forum. As said previously I'm negotiable on the asking price.

Enjoy your weekend!

CHEERS,
Johan
