Pictures show no transfer box lever and gearbox levers not original. What does it have? Why was it advertised as a 290?

Has Transfer Box Lever in the usual place. Diffs are all good. but has upgraded 5 speed. I never saw the 290 Advert, but was 300gd on wesellcars. Its an 82 SWB, has all the usual equipment, but landrover seats in the back. also the speedo is aftermarket and also doesn't work ... It needs the trim around the inside door handles and one of the knobs on the one diff lock is missing. But considering its age, it is in an excellent condition. Put close to 400km on it already.

Is there any evidence that the colour was dark green before ? Have a record of a 5 speed 1982 swb dark green one that was forsale in PTA in 2012

colour code in bonnet is cypress green. there is some overspray on the doors, so might have had a bit of a paint update at some point. paint is aged and cracked on fenders in a place as you would expect from euro spec paint of this age. I'll post some pics tonight. I can post a vin if you want to share some history.

Congrats. That looks like a very good buy. I think I know this G and if so it was an import from England. The speedo was in MPH, and it had a factory 5 speed box in it. The owner then spent wadges of cash on its mechanicals.
